Implantology has achieved predictability and speed. Periodontology has established biological rigor and a systemic vision. Yet, for too long, they have spoken different languages—as if the bone surrounding an implant obeyed different laws than that surrounding a tooth. This conference was created to challenge that separation. “Periodontology and Implantology. Two Disciplines, One Biology.” is not a slogan: it is an epistemological statement. The periodontal ligament, the microbiota, the inflammatory response, and the neuroendocrine axes do not change. It is our interpretation of the system that must change, as the system itself changes. The SISS does not simply organize events. It builds scientific communities capable of thinking in complex ways, in an era that rewards simplification.
