MAESTRO Protocol

The Dental Office proceeds with the diagnostic phase following these steps:

Performing a diagnosis on the patient accompanied by relevant clinical examinations
Evaluation of the treatment plan
Verifying the patient’s mouth opening to allow sufficient space for drill passage
Taking dental impressions and occlusal records
Possibly sending traditional impressions or intraoral scans to the reference laboratory for radiological template construction.

If the patient wears a removable prosthesis that meets all aesthetic and functional requirements, it is possible to create a radiological template by accurately duplicating it. Before duplication, it is advisable to rebase the prosthesis to ensure optimal tissue adherence.

Once the laboratory has sent the radiological template to the dental office, the following steps are taken:

Fitting the template on the patient, ensuring proper fit and occlusal registration separating the lower and upper arch teeth.
Instructing the patient on the correct placement of the radiological template.
Prescribing the CT/CBCT examination to the patient.
The CT/CBCT examination is performed with the radiological template following a DOUBLE SCANNING protocol.
The radiological template must be kept and returned to the dental office.

Once the CT/CBCT examination is completed, the Dental Office needs to send the DICOM and STL data to BTK using one of the following methods:

In this phase, the Dental Office, using the OPERA software, performs virtual planning of the surgical case, possibly with technical assistance from BTK.
After completing the design phase, BTK sends a summary document of the project to the client.
The dentist needs to sign a prescription and authorization document to officially confirm the production of the customized device.

Once the project is approved, BTK manufactures the surgical template and, if necessary, the anatomical model, and sends them to the Dental Office.

In the Surgical Office:

The surgical template must be cold sterilized.
The surgical template is placed and secured on the patient’s arch.
The professional performs the surgical procedure using the dedicated MAESTRO surgical kit.
In the same session, the professional may choose to use the previously prepared immediate loading provisional prosthesis from their dental laboratory.

The following protocol refers to a reinforced temporary structure made of multilayer milled resin for immediate loading proposed by BTK on 4 or more implants.
This solution has been chosen to ensure proper tissue healing, optimal prosthetic emergence, as well as simplification of patient oral hygiene and prosthesis maintenance.

The workflow for the fabrication of the definitive prosthesis starts with the impression taking at the dental office. The impression can be done conventionally, using open tray impression transfers, or digitally if the office is equipped with an intraoral scanner, using BT/BU Intraoral Scan Abutments.

The impressions are then sent to a dental laboratory for development.
The definitive structure can be produced according to the usual techniques of the reference laboratory.
As a Milling Center, BTK can also handle the production of the structure, which will be finalized by the laboratory.
